Pre Production- Filming Date and Camera Booking
On Thursday 1st March we booked out 2 cameras to film on Tuesday 6th March. As a group we felt that we needed more/better footage so Caitlyn took out a camera on 13th March and filmed some more scenes.
Pre Production- Screenplay- Costume Research
In our film noir we want our characters to wear clothes that are the stereotypical costume of their character. Our in our film noir we have two detectives and a picture of mysterious girl.
Detectives: Typically in film noirs characters like detectives look very respectable in clean suits.
Femme Fatale: In film noir films, femme falates are seen in quite posh gowns that will make them look seductive.

Pre Production- The Shoot
When we are shooting the scenes outside we will have 2 big torches with us that will hopefully light up the scene a bit as we are not aloud to take the lighting kit outside and also no one in our team had a lighting certificate so we can't use the kit. Our Actors are Ben Johnson and Jacob Sells who are playing the detectives and we have asked them to wear suits so they are coming in their prom suits.
Pre Production- Screenplay- Props
In our opening scene we used props such as cigarettes, alcohol, and a gun. All of those props are always seen in film noirs. Especially cigarettes and more or less everyone smoked in the times that film noirs were set. Also a gun is always seen as stereotypical plot lines in film noirs are mysteries or murders which a gun commonly used as the murder weapon.

Tony Nickleson- Head Detective
Age:40
Dressed smartly, height about 5ft7, Medium build. Has been a detective for 20 years so knows what he is talking about so is very wise and experienced in his field. Tony is a divorced man with 2 young kids who he very rarely sees because of his job which causes his children to dislike him. Tony spends a lot of time alone and prefers his on company. In the opening scene we have made it is shown that Tony knows about "The Lady in the Red Dress" that is found in Joseph's wallet.
Derek Jones- Tony's Assistant
Age:27
Derek is also dressed smartly with neat comb hair. height about 6ft and very slim he has only been a detective for 2 years so doesn't have a lot of experience so learns alot from tony and looks up to him and has a lot of respect for him. Derek is a single man who is know as a ladies man, who enjoys other people's company.
Joesph Kennedy- Mysterious Man
Age:32
Dressed in a long trench coat, black suit, trousers and a hat, with half his face covered. Not much is know about Joseph but apart from he had a picture of Maggie in his wallet when he was shot. Making Tony believe he got caught up with her. Very troubled man and the film starts by him taking his life.
Maggie Franklin- A beautiful lady
Age:24
Wearing a red dress about 5ft6 slim and curvy. A very seductive women who only uses men for their money and leaves them broken often driving them to commit suicide.

In our film noir screenplay there are some aspects in it that has conventions of the film noir genre. For example in film noir they always have a femme fatale and we have included one in our film. Also the two main characters are two male detectives who are working on a murder case which are also conventions in the film noir genre. Also we have included props such as guns, cigarettes and alcohol which are also commonly used in a film noir.

Pre Production- Target Audience Questionnaire
After looking at all of our questionnaires we have seen that our target audience would be of an older age of about 50+. This would mostly be because film noir were quite popular about 40 years ago. We will add older charactrs, clothing style, props etc. to the production to make it appeal to our target audience. Overall the target audience for film noirs in general is about 50+ as they tend to be watched by people who have watched them from when they were popular and around a lot.
